Peace Idea of the Day

There are so many simple ways we can wage Peace. We will try to list some of the things daily that common everyday people can do to be part of the solution and not the problem. Peace begins with one individual building a positive bond with another. The simple changing of points of consciousness creates better ground for building peace.
9/25/14 - Plan one random act of kindness such as leaving snack money at your place of work for the next person to find.
9/21/14 - Participate in today's moment of Worldwide Meditation at 10:00 a.m. CST.
10/28/13 - To build stronger inner peace . View Prudence Bruns at - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwojlNyHNGU
10/28/13 - Consider contacting the president and Homeland Security. The general slant these days is for Homeland Security to focus more on defense of our soil and to shift away from aggression on foreign soil. IT is not the best of all worlds but a move in the right direction.
7/22/13 - If you state has a "Stand Your Ground Laws" petition your legislators by email or mail to revisit those laws. They are effectively creating violent situations.
7/15/13 - Check out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUfOj8aoHa8 and

4/29/13 - Consider getting your schools involved with PEACE Building at:
http://www.peacebuilders.com/whatWeDo/fundingOpportunities.php
4/29/13 - A good site: http://johnsalley.com/
4/18/13 - Please consider adding your name to the petition to congress on gun control. https://my.barackobama.com/page/s/keep-fighting-to-reduce-gun-violence?email=bushcl%40bay.k12.fl.us&zip=32438&keycode=8a9fa8f9b8ebea495f72b64bcbeac530f77e9cc14f3265f10951330d787b2ec4&utm_medium=email&utm_source=obama&utm_content=1+-+Add+your+name++tell+Congress+youre+not+g&utm_campaign=em13_20130418_jc_act&source=em13_20130418_jc_act
4/16/13 - More on the vegetarian issue. Watch the following video http://www.meat.org/
It is pretty gruesome, but if you can watch it and go to Outback or KFC tonight, well .... Peace can not be in the hearts of those who do these things, and we condone it if we participate as consumers.
4/10/13 - On the EAT PEACE note ... Check out this site. http://www.giveusahome.co.uk/articles/vegetarianism.htm
Also, http://www.worldpeacediet.com/
4/8/13 - Go visit someone in a nursing home ... anyone. There are those who never have visitors. A good nursing home will match you with someone. Or ... go serve at a Rescue Mission or Soup Kitchen this week.
4/8/13 - When you buy anything, look to see if there is any indication of "Fair Trade". This more insures that those who produced the products were treated fairly and got a fair market price, with fair wages attached. PEACE struggles to growth without social justice.
4/3/13 - Check out 1love.org This is a site dedicated to performing one act out of love each day for someone.
Also, eat PEACE ... See the Forum at http://vegetarianforum.freeforums.net
2/21/13 - Read the book about Mother Teresa - "A Simple Path" .... She is a mighty teacher for PEACE.
2/15/13 - Take a look at this site - http://pathstogod.weebly.com Also, you might want to read Finding The Way by Michael Lister
2/12/13 - Prudence (Farrow) Bruns is in India now filming a documentary surround the spiritual event of Kumbh Mela. She has a great site at http://www.dearprudencefoundation.org/
You may donate to the advancement of TM which is a premier way to raise human consciousness and when we do that, PEACE is more and more possible.
1/10/13 - As you go about your day, look for every occasion to hold the door for someone, every opportunity to thank something, and find 3 people today to commend for something they've done or accomplished. This is the way we build peace. You can't build a brick house until you have bricks, and you can't have bricks until you have clay. Sometimes we are most effective when we are forming bricks. Wide spread and profound peace can have a very small beginning.
1/7/13 - Email your legislators in the U.S. Congress today and tell them that we need extensive gun control legislation to curb the murder of our children.
7/25/12 - Go to your favorite restaurant, coffee shop, etc. and present you favorite waitress or barrista with a gift card for some of their wares. You might get one of the most pleasant looks you've seen on a face in a while. Small acts create PEACE one person at a time. It can start a chain reaction of peace building.
6/17/12 - Call your father today if you have one (I don't - at least not here physically). If you are not on good terms with him, start working on that today. If you are on good terms with him, continue your ways. PEACE starts inwardly and then to those closest to us. If we cannot build inner peace and family peace, it will be difficult to affect PEACE in the world.
6/14/12 - Read the book "How to Know God" by Deepak Chopra. It will help you to the point of inner peace whether you are a believer or not, or regardless of your beliefs.
5/30/12 - I heard from a friend today about the little kid singing, "ain't no homos gonna make it to heaven", in a church full of cheering adults. If you are a Christian or not, read Matthew 22:37-40. This is Christ's response when asked by his disciples to tell them what is important to know. This was a time when he is believed by many of Christiandom to have just realized his divinity and was awaiting arrest and ultimately death. Anyone asked such a question at such a time would most likely be sure to be direct and succinct with what they feel is important. Read the verses and you will see was the founder of the Christian faith said and believed. No one in such churches are Christians. They are the antithesis of Christianity. Whatever you believe about Christ, Matthew 22:37-40 will let you know what he believed. And, as PEACE makers ourselves, it would be hard to find any fault with the Christ that is portrayed there. My point - dismiss what such people in the church cited above would have you believe but remember, to achieve PEACE we have to love them as well. For you Christians, know what you should believe. For those of you who are non-Christian, Christ was the original peace demonstrator. Follow his lead in that respect.
5/22/12 - Entertain becoming a vegetarian. It is hard to build any kind of peaceful connection to mankind when we eat animals who are so brutally and horribly treated to put meat on our table. Watch some of the cataloged videos on the Peta website and then see how much meat you are willing to still eat. Treating animals like trash in meat factories not only is dispicable in what we do to the animals but it makes those who work in the plants less human. Those working for very little over minimum wage become accustomed to kicking, punching, and sometimes torturing the animals they are supposed to be caring for. When this becomes normal to them, they become less human.
When you become a vegetarian, there is a whole world of food possibilites that opens up. You will likely be trimmer, your digestive system will love you, and you will feel lighter of body and spirit.
Also, the disproportionate amount of grain protein we used to produce meat can effectually eliminate hunger in the world is the vision to distribute is on track.
5/18/12 - Pray or wish for your enemies and detractors, that they might have clarity, peace of mind, and inner happiness. If they achieve these things, they can no longer be your detractors or enemies. It is a powerful part of the PEACE building process.
5/18/12 - Go out from work today and into the weekend consciously looking for doors to hold for people, for those in need in reaching things in grocery stores, for anyone and everyone who might need a hand - and, then, be there for them. Make their lives easier.
5/6/12 - Research Vipasanna. It is a method of meditation which makes it very difficult for us to treat others wrong without being immediately mindful of doing so. Great way to stay on the path to PEACE.
5/2/12 - Remember to Meditate. There are many ways - Mindfulness, TM, and others.
5/2/12 - Another inner PEACE building source. We recommend OWN (Oprah's Network) to watch Life Class. Check your DVR for scheduling by your provider and your location.
4/17/12 - Check out http://www/pathstogod.weebly.com If you have always struggle with traditional views of God. It helps me with inner Peace and it might help you.
4/17/12 - Download the Huffington Post App on your smartphone. Check out the heading along the top bar for Mindful Living. It is quite a way over so keep looking. A great site to assist you in building PEACE from the inside out.
3/20/12 - Check the book "The Relaxation Response" by Dr. Herbert Benson to work on inner PEACE. Inner peace is necessary to help build PEACE in the world.
3/18/12 - Check out this site. Build inner peace first. http://www.susanpiver.com
1/5/12 - Happy New Year ... Go to http://www.whyhunger.org
An excellent way to make a nominal donation to do some good.
12/8/12 - Counteract the negativity of John Lennons murder today by going out of your way to do things for others. Make today a day of PEACE in John's honor.
12/6/12 - Read the book, Finding the Way Again by Michael Lister.
10/17/11 - Review all of you social, civic, and professional clubs and affiliations for divisionist/exclusionary tendencies. The world needs efforts towards cooperation and inclusion in order to identify areas of agreement rather than sources and areas of disagreement.
10/6/11 - If you have HBO, watch the re-runs of Living in the Material World about George Harrison. Puts one in a good frame of mind. Pick at least one person in your world that you have either a strained or weak relationship with and vow and plan to improve that relationship. Start improving it today.
10/5/11 - Check out the David Lynch Foundation. Also, if possible, watch Living In The Material World on HBO the next two nights. A bio/movie/documentary on George Harrison by Martin Scorsese.
2012 presents us with an opportunity to really make a shift in the premise for life. To one of competition to one of cooperation. From one of hatred to one of love. From one of war to one of PEACE. The initial shift in that direction can come now. As John Lennon once sang - "War is over, if you want it." Be the change you hope to see.
9/5/11 - Check out http://www.globalonenessproject.com
A great website with a wonderful purpose a philosophy to see it come about.
8/1/11 - Pledge this year and in the coming years to be a compromising person who deals with others in a spirit of cooperation and empathy. Perhaps our world is at a point where we can not flourish anymore with everything being in a state of competition. That being the case, many will be left out. For us to learn to deal with one another peacefully both locally and globally may be crucial if not totally necessary.
7/11/11 - Check out http://www.peaceicedtea.com
A commercial site with a Peaceful bend. Take a look and decide. At least it makes Peace a cool thing with kids.
7/7/11 - Spread Peace and Love today. This is piggybacking on an annual effort on Ringo Starr's birthday. He is in Hamburg, Germany today doing the same thing. Say it, write it, preach it. Our world must turn from hatred and war. PEACE AND LOVE TO YOU ALL!!!!
6/6/11 - Our president and other national leaders are considering an early pull out of troops in Afghanistan. Send letters or make calls to expedite that process and to let them know that that is our wish also.
5/19/11 - Be very understanding of these people who think the world will end Saturday. We do not know what brought them to the need to believe this and even hope for it. I think God wants us to love one another and build peace - and to love them without ridicule would fall in that category. If you have no religious beliefs, then be kind because it creates more kindness. Some of these people will lose everything they had - some of which they needed, because they are going into Saturday night past 6:00 p.m. with the knowledge they gave everything away. We need to create a world where no one craves getting out of it so badly they'll believe people like Mr. Camping.
4/20/11 - If you are a religious/spiritual person reach out to someone of differing beliefs today. If you are not, reach out to someone ... anyone. Make yourself available to serve someone else. Get outside your own world to be involved in someone else's now.
4/12/11 - Send and email to those how work around you everyday commending them for something or extolling your gratitude for something they have done. Peace starts one person at a time.
4/6/11 - Email your U.S. Representatives and Senators and ask them to work toward bringing home all our soldiers from Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya.
3/9/11 - Go to http://pathstogod.weebly.com
It is a wonderful new site that may help some to become a more peaceful individual which is the first step towards waging PEACE.
1/12/11 - I have been away from my acitivities on this site for far too long. The events of the past days such as the shooting in Arizona have prompted me to rejoin this effort to wage PEACE. It is a necessity.
Visit the following website for a possible way to way to develop internal PEACE. Internal peace once established is then useable to influence others.
http://www.prudencebruns.com
Prudence is a new acquaintance of mine and a longtime instructor of Transcendental Meditation. You might remember her from "Dear Prudence" fame by John Lennon. She learned TM directly from the Maharishi.
9/3/10 - Go to http://www.postconsumers.com Simplicity has a way of being more Peaceful.
9/1/10 - Check out http://visionsofheaven.com This site might assist you in the process of building peace within yourself. You may also find http://www.pathstoGod.weebly.com helpful.
8/18/10 - Our forefathers in America came here intially, largely due to religious persecution. They came here so they could worship as they wished or not worship at all. Our constitution was crafted in such a way that protected those wishes. We can not establish Peace or uphold the wishes and wisdom of our forefathers by denying citizens the right to build a religious facility on privately purchased lands in accord with law. We can not deny people from building a Catholic Church, a Synagogue, a Buddhist Monastery, or a Mosque. We may and will have our opinions on whether it is a good idea or whether we like it or not, but to deny anyone what our forefather fought to protect, is more of a threat to our freedom and to Peace than any perceived militant entity. Our demise would more likely come through our complacency in preserving the rights of all than through some planned subversion. Support our President's decision to mirror the vision and wisdom of our forefathers. It might not be what we like in every individual situation but it keeps us what we are in the long run. Justice is the forerunner of Peace. Work for both.
7/27/10 - Check out: http://www.johnlennonday.com
7/15/10 - Consider Vegetarianism. The mindset goes hand in hand with PEACE in the world. It just generally exemplifies a respect for life. We send enough grain to Russia each year for cow feed to feed the hungry people of the world. In conjunction with that, imagine this. In the area around Dodge City Kansas, 9000 cattle are slaughtered a day. And, believe me, they don't put them to sleep with anesthesia before they are killed. So, if you research this, you will find sources who will tell you that vegetarianism is bad for all, because of all the land that is already taken up with agriculture. They''ll suggest that vegetarianism on a large scale would require more land to be used for agriculture. The truth is just the opposite. It would take less land to feed a nation of vegetarians, since we'd be could do away with all the land use for feed production for cattle and other animals - not only in the U.S. but worldwide since we provide much of the world with livestock feed. Two good sources to research are Happy Cow and PETA.
And, you can get a vegetarian starter packet from http://www.goveg.com
7/13/10 - Think about changing your mindset. People seem to be intent on electing a particularly party or candidate who will fix things for all of us. Such thinking is faulty in that leaders are supposed to be those who help us find our way to solutions to synthesize what we wish for collectively and assist us in producing a context in life that produces what most of us would see as good. A leader is not someone to fix it all. That is not possible. What we need is for a vigorous campaign by individuals to change or even enhance their consciousness. When we all can include in our vision, in a vital fashion, concern and compassion for everyone - not just our own preferences - the world will change. In fact if this occurs the world is by definition changed. I urge you to wage a campaign within yourself that removes "you" from the center of the universe and places global well being for all there. At that point you become a contributing member of all that revolves around what should be the center of our consciousness - the good of all. When we can intentionally transcend what seems to be innate in our animal selves, we have reached a bit of the sap or the essence of existence - us as a part of all life and creation. We begin to experience our world as something more than the sum total of what we see, hear, taste, smell, and feel. The experience becomes some more than the senses provide - an extra experiential element. Then we've raised our level of consciousness and our leaders can simply be leaders not saviours. Perhaps Peace will be a by-product. And, what is your responsibility in all this? Change yourself.
6/28/10 - Check out this site: http://www.repoweramerica.com
This site advocates changing our energy economy away from fossil fuels - most especially oil - towards alternative, clean, and sustainable energy sources. Anything that reduces our dependency on oil changes our country to a less agressive nation and reduces our involvement in the Middle East. Oil is the driving force in the war. Without the oil, we'd never be in the Middle East to start with.
6/21/10 - Go to Starbucks and buy a "RED" item. They support many great programs for Peace, including debt forgiveness for third world Africa.
6/17/10 - Create some business-type cards and distribute them some how that basically proclaim People for World Peace and our beliefs.
6/14/10 - Send a small contribution to an organization of your choice to help clean up the oil spill along the north Gulf of Mexico. People lives and livelihoods are in danger. See Peace Programs in the link above to make a choice of organization.
6/11/10 - Buy locally produced food. When we take mass transporting out of the equation, we take foreign oil out of the equation. This reduces middle east dependency on oil. I don't suppose anyone needs a lesson on what our dependency on foreign oil has done for us - or PEACE. Wars are waged over oil, although that fact is repackaged in the name of freedom and democracy for the middle east. Furthermore, we promote a mindset that should lead to clean and sustainable energy development.
6/5/10 - Read "Johnny Got His Gun" by Dalton Trumbo. It will alter your perspective on war. If you are already against war period, it will strengthen your resolve. If you are a beginner peacenik, it will change you forever. It was written in the World War II era. Trumbo was blacklisted for being against war during the time of a popular war.
6/3/10 - Make today a do something nice day. When you get into your car today, remind yourself to drive with courtesy. Let people in your lane who are trying to change. Hold the door for people. Offer assistance to those who appear to need it. I was standing on a corner at Macy's in Manhattan a few years ago with my wife after we'd walked to Southstreet and were on our way back to Midtown. We were actually just resting but we must have looked like we needed help. A gentleman in a three piece suit veered walked over to ask us if we need directions. We told him we were just resting and he left saying, "Well, have a nice day". And off he went. Building Peace is that simple and elementary. Look for it and create it.
6/1/10 - Put a link for this site and any other PEACE sites on your websites, Facebook, Myspace etc. Make Peace a defining issue for you. Let others know it is of importance to you.
5/31/10 - Make business type cards to handout or leave in public places that send people to this site, your sites, or other such as ImaginePeace.Com
5/17/10 - Start researching today those candidates in your state who will are running for congress this coming year. It is time to determine who amongst them has the strongest pro world peace stance. See how they stand on nuclear disarmament.
5/13/10 - Today is a great day to do a random act of kindness. Can you feel it in the air? Buy a stranger a cup of coffee. Leave a waitress a fantastic tip. If you don't have the money, do some kind act. It all starts little. Wage PEACE .........
5/12/10 - Go http://www.imaginepeace.com and read the latest articles. lots of good PEACE ideas and activities.
5/11/10 - Plan to be at Strawberry Fields on December 8, 2010 to promote peace at the 30th Anniversay of John Lennon's death.
12/28/09 - Rise each morning in 2010 with a plan for how you will promote Peace everyday. Remember Peace begins at home. There are many Worldwide effort but there is plenty to do close to home. Two good ideas ... eat local ... create Peace locally.
5/11/10 - OK ... We have apologized too many times for our absence. This December 8, is the 30th anniversary of John Lennon's untimely death. Make some big plans to be at Strawberry Fields this December 8. I am certain the day will be huge and a peaceful energy will resound throughout the world.
12/25/09 - Start a Pay It Forward chain. Example: Go through a drive-in window and pay for your meal or coffee and the person's behind you in the next car and ask the clerk to relay this message, "Happy Christmas - Pay the favor forward."
AS JOHN WOULD SAY .... "WAR IS OVER IF YOU WANT IT." HAPPY CHRISTMAS ...
12/23/09 - Make plans to be in Central Park at Strawberry Fields on December 8, 2010 as a show of solidarity for PEACE.
12/22/09 - Write letters to President Obama to pull all troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan.
12/9/09 - We have been away for far to long. We promise to be back and offering other resources and suggestions for Peace Building on a frequent basis. This would be a great time to look back over the Peace Ideas from the past here. Also, check out: http://www.imaginepeace.com
It is chock full of info and ideas now, since yesterday was the 29th observance of John Lennon's death.
Actually, it is always a great source of Peacefulness. Get involved in your local homeless shelters. Traffic at shelters explodes with the onslaught of winter. Their needs are great and Peace starts at home.
7/18/09 - Begin planning your candle light vigils for September 10, to call for WORLD PEACE in order to prevent what happend on 911. Only PEACE will create peace. Target time - 12:00 m
7/17/09 - Once again wehave been away for a long time - far too long. Check out
http://www.playingforchange.com
4/1/09 - I apologize profusely for my long absence. It appears throught the election of President Obama that we have a president far more concerned with World Peace than any before him. I really think he is a step far away from warring for peace towards cooperating for peace. Let us make sure he hears from those of us when he takes step towards World Peace. Check into CSA's ... Community Supported Agriculture. It is a concept that runs parallel to Community and World Peace. I am back. We in action for Peace can not rest ... those who choose hatred and war never do.
1/5/09 - Parents ... Go http://www.wherepeacelives.com Maybe you could get your child's school to take a look a the mural program.
1/2/09 - Go to http://www.imaginepeace.com/news today. Great news and a great site to visit now and again.
12/23/08 - Pray for World Peace on Christmas Eve Night and Christmas Day. If you don't pray, then wish for it.
12/22/08 - Check out the following website of Zoe Weston related to her book - 5 Step To World Peace. http://www.zoeweston.com/5_steps_to_world_peace.php
12/11/08 - Call today and make a donation towards Christmas Dinner for the homeless, or if money is an issue with you as well, go help serve and perhaps share a meal.
12/9/08 - Indentify someone today and make plans to become a better friend to them. Pick someone who is already a strong acquaintance or someone who seems they could use a friend. If everyone did this, we'd soon have 6 billions new close relationships. This is all a part of changing your type of consciousness of others and the world in general. We must believe the world is a place of infinite potential.
12/8/2008 - Make plans today to help serve a meal at a local homeless shelter or shelter for single mothers. This is a wonderful way to build Peace in a totally positive manner.
12/5/08 - We never wanted this to be a political venue, so we refrained from supporting specific candidates this fall. However, since the presidential election is over, and we have a new president, we believe we have a president who cares what we think. Be involved with his decisions and plans. Go to http://www.barackobama.com He needs to know our wishes about World Peace.
12/2/08 - Draft a letter to newly nominated Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, and let her know that we want PEACE in the world. She can have a great bearing on Peace in the world in the way that she conducts foreign diplomacy.
12/1/08 - If you are in high school or college consider joining outreach types of clubs ... ones for which the main purpose is improving the community. Avoid those clubs which seem to be all meet and greet where all that gets done is talk. Never consider those who require any degrading initiation. A good example is LUCAP at loyola in New Orleans.
11/26 and 11/27 - Give thanks for all the wonderful blessings of this life. All is not well, but much of life is simply glorious. Spend some time over the holidays aligning aspects of your life in such away that each facet supports the other and a life of peace. Certain things in life are congruent with one another and in line with the peace flagship. Examine how you worship or not - what you eat or don't - how your life impacts the lives of all those around you. PEACE is attainable and will be attained. The only question remaining is - when will it come. I think we are coming into a time in history where PEACE will make great strides. I say this half in jest, but maybe Aquarius is just beginning to dawn.
11/24/08 - Check out the AP Article today on the couple (Joe and Chris Miller) in Platteville, Colorado, who gave away tons of produce. That is the way to build peace.
11/17/08 - An Indian (Asian) friend of mine was murdered this last week. There has been such an outpouring of love for him and his family amongst poor rural white people that it is to the point of amazement. His family and friends have thrown PEACE in the face of violence. It has been about my friend and not about the perpetrators. We have celebrated his life, not howled for vegeance - not that justice for this act should go without consequence - but violence does not bring peace. Reflect on this today. Be a Force for Peace in the face of violence and hatred.
11/12/08 - Begin a campaign for you local homeless or relief shelter. The suggested ending date is December 10. You may want to collect blankets, canned foods, clothing, etc. Do this at your locale at your discretion for People for World Peace. You be the leader. Just as it is best to shop locally, and eat locally grown foods, the best charity is that born of local compassion.
11/5/08 - Email President-Elect Obama today to state you wish for us to get out of Iraq as quickly and expediantly as possible.
11/4/08 - ELECTION DAY ...... GO VOTE .... GO NOW ...
11/3/08 - VOTE Tomorrow ... If you haven't already. Vote for those who will bring about Peace. There can not be peace without some sense of Social Justice and justice will not prevail with us spending billions and billions to wage war while hunger prevails all over the world including the United States. We paraphrase, but Martin Luther King once said something to this effect ... 'the arch of change is slowly but it does bend slowly towards Social Justice". Lets help it along.
10/27/08 - Write to your congressmen to tell them we want out troops out of Iraq now.
10/6/08 - Check out the websites for John McCain and Barrack Obama. Make plans to vote for the one who will affect the earliest exit from from current WAR efforts and do the most to avoid future military actions.
9/30/08 - Check out http://www.celebratingpeace.com A great website for educators or parents.
9/29/08 - Consider Vegetarianims or at least consider a reduction in meat consumption. Also, make plays to attend a Green Living Seminar. Living peacefully with the earth helps create a peaceful mindset in general.
9/12/08 - Sign the Peace Pledge at http://www.peacepledge.org
9/11/08 - Sorry for the lengthy hiatus. Idea ... Explore our prejudices. Find out what is behind them, how they started, and how they negatively influence our thoughts and actions. By doing so, maybe we can eliminate some of our prejudices.
8/26/08 - Check out http://www.compassion.com Consider sponsoring a child if you have the means. I've done little research on this site if you wish to check it out further, so so.
8/18/08 - Get to know one new neighbor this week. Community is where peace starts. It is the level most people can make and impact.
8/15/08 - Go to http://www.joinred.com/red This is and organiztions set up largely by Bono. All monies garnered by this are spent in creating justice and peace through peaceful means.
8/14/08 - I apologize for the lengthy absence. Go to http://www.nobelpeaceprize.org It is an interesting site in general. Make the first moves towards a new friendship today on a personal level.
7/31/08 - You don't need to sit-in or write letters to be part of the peace movement. One of the more dynamic things you can do is to simply become a peace agent in your daily activites. Be more aware of others and what you can do to create peace on a person to person level. The act of simply adding one more peaceful person to the world in huge in itself. Make that commitment today.
7/29/08 - Go to http://www.peacecorp.gov If you have the will and time to put into a peace commitment the Peace Corp is a way to do that.

7/11/08 - If you have supported the war in Iraq, I urge you to consider why. My guess would be that you think we are waging war on worldwide terrorism. Give that some rational thought. We are concentrating enormous weaponry and money in a spot on earth roughly the size of Texas. And, we are investing the lives of young men and women - literally their lives. How does that stop terrorist attacks around the world. Are all terrorist registered and required to live in Iraq? Obviously, many are in Afghanistan where were are not placing near the concentrated efforts. What we are doing in Iraq would be like trying to stop worldwide shark attacks by cordoning off the Great Barrier Reef. It makes no rational sense. We are in Iraq for petroleum interests. War solves nothing, never has ... not with any permanence. Please make your choices at the poll both local, state, and national over the coming months to bring about peace.

Today, drive defensively and remove youself from the stress of trying to rush and push your way through traffic. For Children: Hold the door for 3 people at your school today. Peace resides in an environment where people try to take themselves out of the center of existence and place mankind as a whole in the center or a God entity of their choice.
May 6, 2008 - Buy or prepare a meal for someone you know who might not have adequate food and take it to them or just sit with them for human contact.
